Here's another song from the Jesse Winchester show in DC last week. Enjoy!
Jesse Winchester "Sham-A-Ling-Dong-Ding"
We're very excited to bring you a little piece of the recent Jesse Winchester set from last week at "The Mansion on O" in Washington, DC. It was a very trippy venue (we'll be posting a video tour later today). Jesse performed this song from his new album "Love Filling Station."
Eilen Jewell "Rain Roll In"
-Signature Sounds Records:
On April 21st, Signature Sounds released Eilen Jewell’s third album, Sea of Tears, a recording that fills in a vital, hitherto missing element of her musical persona. “Before I discovered Woody Guthrie and folk music,” she explains, “I was listening to Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, and, later on, the Animals and the Kinks. I love that stuff, and I love to play it.”
With Sea of Tears, Jewell and her longtime band of Jason Beek (drums, harmony vocals), Jerry Miller (electric, acoustic, and steel guitars), and Johnny Sciascia (upright bass) wed her elegantly unflinching songwriting with a rustic, pre-Beatles swagger that encapsulates vintage R&B, Midwestern garage rock, Chicago blues, and early rock and rockabilly, while maintaining the haunting, folk-inspired purity that first made her an artist to watch."
And watch you are. The views for the video of "Sea Of Tears" that we posted on March 28 have exploded over the last few days, so we figured one good 'tune' deserves another. Here's "Rain Roll In" from Threadgill's!
