Mac McAnally "Big Disappointment"

Mac gave the Music Fog cameras two songs up in the "green room" at The State Theatre in VA last week. What a calm and collected guy! It was hot as hell in that room and he didn't break a sweat. Aaron (Music Fog sound guy), was distilling in his own juice. And I was wondering if these green rooms are always like this. And they usually are because performance halls need to save a bit of green...can't blame them.

Turns out that Mac thanked us for getting there a bit earlier than him and switching on the air prior to his arrival. But then our camera lights didn't help matters much.

You just have to roll with it like Mac does.

Tom Gillam "Shine Your Light"

Happy Labor Day! Yes, we are toiling in the Music Fog camp, as we salute one of Austin's hardest working musicians. Gillam-HE-CoverSTICKER-300

Tom Gillam has made lots of adjustments in the last two years: changed his mailing address from New Jersey; and cleaned up his act after a health scare. Tom has a new album just out called "Had Enough", to which we can categorically say "Not ever!" So here is "Shine Your Light" from our Threadgill's sessions for your Labor Day grilling and grinning pleasure!

Bonnie Bishop "Brent Rollins"

When Music Fog recorded Bonnie it was at a small Italian joint in VA.  It was the first time this establishment ever had an artist perform in house.  It was tight!  And it was a very memorable night.  Bonnie is at her best playing to (and with) the crowd.  In this song, Bonnie explained that it is based on a true story about a guy who gave her some money and advice when she needed it most.  She's been trying to pay him back ever since.  Hence, the song.

What a voice!
