“If You See A F Hole – Mic It!”

Bus at Night Thirteen Bands recorded at the Celebrity Coach - Music Fog bus yesterday. That’s a record for this “start-up” venture! So many inventive decisions had to be made on the fly here at the Americana Music Festival & Conference. How do you record a clip board from an office supply store played with a pair of brushes?

Aaron That aluminum stand-up bass that walked in the door at 1am asked for a beer and a smoke before Aaron could record it. Didn’t phase Aaron. He wrestled the bass to the floor – threw a mic at it, and recorded what ever sound it made. Thats when we heard the now infamous cry of the audio guy…”if you see a F hole, mic it”.

Seems innocent enough. But we are worried about Aaron. He’s the one that talked us all into taking 3:30am showers at a truck stop last night! Really.

More video on the way. Watch this space.

Raul Malo "Lucky One"

Under the cover of darkness, Raul Malo made his way to the Music Fog bus in a Cadillac last seen on the Sopranos. If you haven't ever heard this guy play, you must listen to the video below immediately. If Raul's voice sounds familiar, you may remember him as the lead singer of The Mavericks.

Grab your smoking jacket, your pipe, and a bottle of moonshine and enjoy!

Cross Canadian Ragweed "51 Pieces"

This afternoon was electric at The Americana Music Association Festival & Conference. Cross Canadian Ragweed showed up with the full band - crammed themselves in our limited space and performed nothing but songs from the new album Happiness and All the Other Things

We also marveled at the level of compliments Jessie Scott received for the boots she was wearing.  It was like - they stole the show! They feature fish tails sewn into the leather with a green hue. For those of you interested in chasing this fashion highlight, Old Gringo is the brand name and they cost so much your dog will starve.

Here's Ragweed...
