Manuel's Jackets

Sorry, y'all, been busy living the dream. Got to Nashville on Tuesday evening and proceeded to have a tete a tete with Manuel of Manuel's Exclusives Clothier, who took me into the room in his shop where the legendary United States designed jackets are hanging. There are 50, of course, and have each states pertinent info and heroes, in rhinestones, very tasteful, of course. He said the project took YEARS to complete.

Rosanne Cash

Then I headed over to the Country Music Hall of Fame for a special evening with Rosanne Cash, as she did songs from her forthcoming album The List, the 100 songs Johnny wrote down for her as essential listening. I hope there are many more volumes to this project. It was simply awesome hearing her sing these classic songs, and honoring the writers in that most hallowed space, The Ford Theater at the hall. It set the tone for what was to come.

Annie & The Beekeepers

We Music Fog men are not ones to get all emotional and cry. We leave that responsibility to Jessie Scott. The rest of us are not teary-eyed girlie men. The only two times in which Music Fog men are allowed to cry are as follows...

1. When you lose your dog.

2. At the end of "Field of Dreams" when Kevin Costner gets to play catch with his dad.

Enter Annie & The Beekeepers.

This band (who was introduced to us by our sound guy Aaron) rolled onto the bus at the end of a very long day. They brought nothing but wood: a tall snazzy stand up bass, cello, guitar and a dobro.  This wasn't boring. This wasn't for the emotionally weak. We all cried at the end. At least us men. Really, we did...

And we are men. Real men of strength.

We present to you...Annie & The Beekeepers.

Behold...

It's Ladies Night At Music Fog!

Sheila's pick: Seth James "Leaves of September"

"Seth James came on the magical Music Fog bus and I was speechless. It was so elegantly simple: sitting on an amp, just him, his guitar, his voice just baring his soul. I just adore his latest record "That Kind of Man." I was ridiculously thrilled when I saw him on the list for the Americana Music Association Festival. I'll let the video speak for itself but I must say, what a dreamboat!"
