JD Souther "I'll Be Here At Closing Time"

JD Souther The bus was three days of crazy at the Americana Festival & Conference. So many people coming through, newcomers, perennials, and even legends. After all, we are now talking about the pen that yielded "Best Of My Love," "New Kid In Town," "You're Only Lonely"- all staples of radio play for over a quarter of a century.

JD Souther has put out his first studio album in 25 years "If The World Was You," which will be followed October 13th with the release of the live CD "Rain."

We were honored to have him!

Nitty Gritty Dirt Band "My Walkin' Shoes"

NGDB

Wow. There we were in Nashville, in the process of filming 36 artists in 3 days (on a bus!) and in walks
The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. We could have used a few buses from Celebrity Coaches to hold the legendry that was before us. But they cozied up on the lone couch and a bass amp to perform a full circle two-song set just for you; one classic, one new. It was incredible to watch them work together, weaving in and out of communication and art---each certain of their space in the music. We'll give it to you just the way we captured it. First one out of the chute is "My Walkin' Shoes."

Shelley King "Summer Wine"

Wow, what a day. Finally back in typing range, seems like a million miles ago that I got Beans email lauding my new policy of alternating videos from boy, girl, solo, not, bluesy, bluegrassy, folky, rocky, etc. So, to let you in on a secret...IT'S ALL RANDOM...will of the wisp! You never know what you will find on Music Fog. That is part of its charm, after all, but of course all Americana, all of the time.

Armadillo Bootleg

And what could be more American than the red white and blue voice of Shelley King? Ya know her new CD features The Subdudes, making joyous yet refined and celestial in-the-pocket harmonies. You might have heard this tune on your radio this summer, as we await the rest of the CD dropping. On this solo rendition, you will have to use your imagination to fill in between Shelley's vocal stylings..."Summer Wine."
