Forty-Two

Oh man. The sky was blue today, we had beautiful driving weather, and when we got off the Shiner/Celebrity Coaches bus, it was to the sweet crisp crunch underfoot of white snow. Then we got to Steamboat (it is so good to be back...this is my seventh year at MusicFest!) and went to the artist check-in party.

So many folks to hug and kiss on! Including the Dickson Productions folks, to whom we offer sincere appreciation for allowing us to be part of this amazing family. Saw most of the Band of Heathens, Jason Eady, Dustin and Kevin Welch, Walt Wilkins, Jason Boland, Jeremy Plato, Kevin Fowler, Cory Morrow, The Braun Brothers, Bonnie Bishop, Hayes Carll, Brandon Jenkins, Wade Bowen, Randy Rogers, Roger Creager, and Eric Middleton from the Midnight River Choir, and of course, we invited them all to come before the Music Fog cameras this week.

SO happy to be here! Bring on the Champagne Powder and the Magical Music!  It was a long journey to get here, but well worth it.  Here's the last leg of our trip, we call it..."Forty-Two."

Steamboat via Dallas

This part of the drive out is getting strange. The belly of the Celebrity Coach bus is packed tight. Most of it is beer. Shiner Beer, in four different flavors! Jessie makes these arrangements that always surprise. And when we picked her up in Dallas, she was waiting in a "warehouse district" with mysterious people. They had the beer and Tito's Vodka in a truck. And it had to be loaded quickly. It seamed OK to us, so we loaded it all. Then it was on to Denver.

We really have no idea where we are. But we think it's somewhere in Colorado. We will see Steamboat tomorrow. For now...

We bring you, "Steamboat via Dallas"

900 Miles to Tupelo

We left the east coast for the south, and a right-hand turn west. Mission accomplished. We rendezvoused with Blake at Celebrity Coaches last night and hastily were whisked west again, but this time in oppulent luxury. So far, we've only stopped for essentials: fuel and Shiner. Oh...and Jessie!

Right now, we have no idea where we are but we managed to produce this video while on the bus. It's been magically uploaded to you via a funny looking dome on top of the coach, while we're rolling down the interstate. We've been told not to fidget with it, since it's truly our only connection to the outside world.

Here's "900 Miles to Tupelo."
