Reckless Kelly "Save Me From Myself"

The rain and flooding has been nothing short of beastly in Oklahoma and Texas, and now Wyoming. Our hearts go out to all the folks impacted, who have lost their homes, businesses and even more, who have lost family and friends. The sheer destruction and the years it will take to rebuild are simply impossible to get one’s head wrapped around. Thank goodness the weather folks say it should be a calmer pattern. If there is any good news out of all of this, it is watching friends and neighbors roll up their sleeves and help out. You can from afar, too. Please donate whatever you can to relief efforts at The Red Cross. This week, Sun Radio in Austin will be raising awareness and encouraging donations to a variety of nonprofit organizations.

I am ever amazed at the willingness of musicians to help out. This year, 100% of the revenue generated from Reckless Kelly Celebrity Softball Jam tickets purchased using the code ‘TXFLOOD’ went towards flood relief and recovery efforts. BTW, The Reckless Kelly Celebrity Softball Jam took place a week ago at Dell Diamond in Round Rock. It is such a fun day, when musicians don baseball uniforms and get some serious playing in, and then the audience was serenaded by the likes of Jack Ingram, Charlie Robison, Uncle Lucius, Cody Canada & The Departed, and Shinyribs. There was an especially cinematic moment when Kevin Russell of Shinyribs took on Spike, the Round Rock Express Team Mascot.

Reckless Kelly is heading up to NYC to play a Sunday night show at Midtown Live on June 14th with Chris Berardo Trio opening. Today Music Fog brings you Willy and Cody Braun and and Jay Nazz, Reckless Kelly "Save Me From Myself" filmed at Threadgill’s WHQ during SXSW12.
